Unregulated tapes and heating wire tend to be used in applications where a higher temperature needs to be maintained, e.g. chemical processing, maintaining temperature in a bi-fuel tank or where a larger amount of heat is required over a relatively short period, e.g. de-icing a frozen valve. We supply all tapes terminated ready for use and where needed a control thermostat with probe to ensure the correct temperature is maintained
We can recommend and supply suitable tapes/wires in whatever length is needed to suit the application in question, and in most cases recommend that insulation is fitted around the application to reduce heat loss. Contact us for information on any particular application or for general literature.
The self-regulating tapes are manufactured such that if more heat is needed at one part of the application there will be a higher heat output locally to accommodate that requirement. As the tape is regulated in this way, there will be no ‘hot spots’ in the tape which would otherwise cause tape failure.
