Benefits
In cold ambient temperatures, battery efficiency and available battery output are known to drop remarkedly. To realise sufficient battery power, a practical battery temperature of around 15°C to 20°C is required.
- PEREGRINE battery pan heaters have been designed to provide a low wattage output to maintain batteries at an acceptable working temperature.
- The engine battery heaters are of sturdy construction and are fitted below the batteries in or under the battery tray. The heater’s upper surface being made from copper for high transference of heat, and the lower cover plate of chromium plated brass to reflect internally radiated heat back to the copper heating surface.
- The heaters are available in two standard sizes and in a range of both AC and DC voltages, and with various wattages. We do manufacture other sizes as specials to customer requirement.
- The PEREGRINE battery pan heaters are in the form of a flat pad. Similar to our external sump oil pad heaters and are controlled by an external air thermostat and have an internal thermal cut-out for safety.
- The air thermostat is usually mounted on the side of the battery or its housing. Giving direct control of the battery temperature and ensuring that the battery pan heater switches off should the temperature increase locally, e.g. when engine starts up.
- The model of the engine battery heater supplied is dependent on a number of factors, e.g. ambient temperature, AH rating, and dimensions of batteries etc.
