As
the range of applications is so diverse it is difficult to detail them all. Many
years ago, all PEREGRINE
equipment related directly to the immediate starting and initial smooth running
of engines, whether a diesel generator, ambulance or Morris Minor. More
recently, however, application requirements have diversified (see customer
specials) and a great many enquiries do now relate to other applications
besides engine starting.
As
far as engine applications are concerned, PEREGRINE
equipment is used to help ensure that whatever the form of engine involved, it
will start as and when needed, and will run smoothly during the start-up period.
This is achieved by ensuring that all relevant components are kept at a suitable
temperature and that batteries are able to deliver the optimum power required.
For
example, when an engine is located in very cold ambient temperatures, as low as
-50°C in some cases, a number of items of equipment will need to be heated to
ensure that the engine starts and runs when required. Depending on the
application in question, these may include; engine coolant pre-heater kit, sump
oil heater, gearbox heater, diesel fuel tank heater, diesel fuel filter heater,
diesel fuel pipe trace-heating, battery pan heater, battery charger (ideally of
automatic type), and in some cases a cab heater may be needed to keep the
operator himself warm. The above may be a worst case scenario, but there is an
item of PEREGRINE
equipment available to meet each of the necessary tasks.
The
applications for which we supply engine related equipment can range from
Lifeboats to Snowcats, Ships’ main engine to Farm Tractors, Water pumping
stations to Cranes, Fire Engines to Generators. the list goes on and on. See our
customer list for examples.
